Velvet Fabric Industry knowledge

The production principle of Velvet Fabrics is achieved through a process called "shearing". Specific steps are as follows:

Weaving the base fabric: First, use an ordinary loom to weave the fabric base fabric. This base fabric can be fabrics of different materials such as cotton, silk, silk, polyester, etc., depending on the desired final product.
Yarn laying: During the process of weaving the base fabric, yarn is laid up at the same time. These yarns will serve as the base for the velvet pile.
Creating pile: After the base fabric is woven, a special process is used to raise the pile fibers (usually cotton, silk, or synthetic fibers) and pass them through the base fabric. These down fibers stand up to form the characteristic pile of velvet.
Shearing: Finally, the undercoat is cut or trimmed to give it a uniform length and appearance. This step is key to ensuring an even, neat pile, giving Velvet Fabrics a delicate, soft touch and luxurious appearance.
Through these steps, Velvet Fabrics can be produced with their own unique texture and appearance.

When cleaning and maintaining Velvet Fabrics, you need to pay attention to the following points:

Dust regularly: Use a soft-bristle brush or a vacuum cleaner with a soft-bristle attachment to gently remove dust and debris from the surface. Avoid using rough brushes to avoid damaging the nap.
Surface stain treatment: For minor stains, you can use a damp cloth to wipe gently. Avoid wiping hard or using cleaners containing chemical ingredients. For stubborn stains, it is recommended to use a specialized furniture or carpet cleaner and test it on an inconspicuous area first to ensure it does not damage the pile.
Avoid washing: Velvet Fabrics are generally not suitable for washing, as washing can cause the pile to become deformed and damaged. If washing is necessary, it is recommended to choose dry cleaning, or follow the cleaning instructions to choose a suitable detergent.
Prevent Sun Exposure: Prolonged sun exposure can cause the pile to change color and fade, so exposure of Velvet Fabrics to the sun should be avoided as much as possible. You can use curtains or shade cloth to block sunlight and protect the fabric.
Turn over regularly: If used on furniture such as seat cushions or back cushions, turn over or rotate Velvet Fabrics regularly to evenly wear and extend its service life.
Keep the room ventilated: Regularly ventilating the room will help reduce the possibility of lint attracting dust and odors.
cleaning and maintaining Velvet Fabrics requires a gentle and delicate approach, avoiding the use of rough cleaning tools and strong detergents that can damage the pile. Regular dusting, gentle wiping of stains, and protection from sun exposure and washing are keys to maintaining its appearance and extending its life. If you have severe stains or need a deep cleaning, it's best to consult a professional cleaning service.
